UNICEF
This United Nations agency aims to promote the defense of children’s rights and is based on four pillars: non‐discrimination; the superior interest of children; survival and development; the child’s opinion. In addition to responding to emergency situations, they work on projects in sectors of health, education, nutrition, water and sanitation . More than half of UNICEF’s resources are allocated to child survival and development. This includes vaccination, maternal and child health care, access to safe water and basic sanitation. Other areas of intervention include: basic education, gender equality, HIV / AIDS prevention and treatment, child protection against violence, abuse and exploitation, improvement of policies and alliances aimed at promoting children’s rights and its practical application at legislative local and internationally.
